Tool Outline Vinyl
Lost or misplaced tools plague many businesses. It's frustrating and expensive to purchase the same tools multiple times because tools get lost. If you're looking for a way to organize your tools clearly and consistently, our tool outline vinyl can help. Try using it to implement shadow boards. Shadow boards keep tools organized, accounted for, and easy to identify. These boards also allow users to quickly see when a tool is missing or in use because the outline of the missing tool is visible.
Our tool outline vinyl is durable and easy to work with. This outline vinyl material is also ideal for 5S, kaizen, and Lean organization, and can be cut easily with a razor blade or pen knife.
Creating a shadow board is simple. In just four simple steps you can be on your way to increased tool organization.
- Lay your tools out onto the white backing in a way that makes sense for your business. For instance, if you would like to keep all the hammers in one area, design for that. Also be sure to leave a minimum of a ½ inch to 1 inch clearance between each tool tracing.
- Take a pencil or marker and trace the tools or items in reverse onto the white backing. Trace all the tools before moving onto the next step.
- Use a utility pen knife to cut out the traced shapes.
- Peel the white backing off and stick the vinyl to your tool pegboard or other tool surface just behind where the tool sits.
Never waste time rummaging through an unorganized tool box again. Instead embrace the order and organization that tool outline vinyl will bring.

The pegboard at my house was a mess and anytime someone used my tools they didn't get put back properly so I bought some of this to clean it up and help stay organized. It has definitely helped.
Great for Tool Boards

We used a couple of rolls of this to make our tool boards at work because we were spending more time looking for the tools than using them!
Use a sharp exacto knife and it's good to go.
