How to Install SafetyTac

Being a versatile choice, which works in even the harshest of working environments, SafetyTac is the answer when looking for a durable floor tape. On sites that are exposed to heavy vehicles passing, a high level of foot traffic, various chemical spillages, or even just regular rainfall, SafetyTac ensures a long-lasting solution that is set to match the toughest of scenarios.

The versatility of SafetyTac tape means it can be used to enhance efficiency in the setup of any workplace. Whether defining pathways, differentiating separate work areas, or drawing attention to any hazards, utilizing floor space can enhance visual communication and ensure a steady flow of traffic throughout a site.

Features of SafetyTac

Being designed with ARMOR technology, the material is much harder in comparison to other floor tapes, creating a denser product that holds more resistance to damage. It is designed to handle heavy weights, being able to cope with heavy machinery passing over or heavy objects placed on top. The triple-stage profile makes it shatterproof, creating peace of mind that it can be installed in all environments without the risk of damage. Being a welcome addition to many industrial facilities, the range of features and benefits of SafetyTac is extensive:

  • Available in 10 solid colors including 4 hazard options.
  • Help both employees and visitors navigate the space.
  • Create brightly colored instructions that are easily visible to all passers-by.
  • Designed to last a long time for a lasting solution.
  • Resistant to water and chemicals thanks to the reinforced rubber-based adhesive.
  • Easy to install by applying using the peel-and-stick adhesive application.
  • Added durability from the 35mm thickness, creating leading strength in the industry.

How to Use SafetyTac

Before getting to work with SafetyTac, it is important to undergo preparation to ensure the successful application of the tape. Start by planning out the layout of the floor, establishing the best way to separate the space and create an efficient flow of traffic. If the floor already has existing paint or tape lines, these should be removed as they can hinder the bonding of the SafetyTac. Once a layout has been decided on, the floor should be thoroughly swept to ensure it is clear of any dirt, dust, or debris. Next, a mild detergent should be used to clean the floor and ensure it is ready for application, removing any build-up of dirt, grease, or product that may be present. It is important to avoid chlorine-based cleaners or other harsh products which can leave a residue.

Once the preparation has been carried out and the space is ready for the installation of SafetyTac, these six simple steps can be followed to achieve maximum success:

  1. Guidelines should be created to ensure the tape is correctly positioned, especially when long stretches of SafetyTac are being implemented and a straight line is wanted to be achieved. To create a temporary guide on the floor, a simple chalk line can be drawn or for a more adjustable solution, a laser pen can be used to trial different placements.
  2. To cut the SafetyTac to the desired length, roll out the tape along the premarked path and cut the tape at the end. Please note that a splice may be encountered in the roll, but this is normal and does not affect the result.
  3. To install the stretch of tape, start by focusing on the start of the line and only remove the liner from a small part instead of removing the whole thing at once. Once the end of the liner has been peeled, tack down the SafetyTac at the start line and ensure it is correctly positioned.
  4. Continue down the stretch of tape, gradually peeling the liner and installing the SafetyTac section by section. Avoid being too rough with the tape, lightly tacking it instead of stretching or pulling as this can interrupt the alignment and create an uneven finish.
  5. Once the tape is in position, heavy weight needs to be applied to strengthen the final bond for maximum performance. Whether this is done by driving a forklift over the stretch or placing heavy objects over the taped areas, a weight above 250 lbs. will create the best result.
  6. In environments where a heavy flow of traffic is present or the area is expected to get wet, a 24-hour cure time is recommended to ensure the SafetyTac has completely bonded to the floor. In the meantime, light traffic can commence immediately after installation.
