ANSI Z87 Safety Glasses

ANSI Z87 Safety Glasses

OSHA approved
eye protection.

The design, performance specifications, and marking of safety glasses, face shields, and goggles are prescribed by the ANSI Z87.1 standard. Employers are responsible for choosing the proper eye protection for the workplace, and this begins with an assessment of the facility's hazards. Common hazards to look out for include the risk for blunt impact, radiation, dust, and splashes. ANSI-rated equipment have labels with symbols to indicate what kind of protection or level of protection is offered; for instance, a plus sign is used on glasses rated for high velocity.
