Just like the 5S program, 6S is the system of methods used to create optimal workplace organization, and is a key component to Lean manufacturing. The only difference from the 5S method is the additional “S”: Safety. The 6 S’s help remind people about certain tasks while also reminding them to stay safe in the workplace by wearing their appropriate PPE.
