When most people think of workplace safety, they think of things like putting up warning signs, using personal protection equipment, following guidance from floor markings, and much more. While these are certainly essential components of workplace safety in a healthcare setting, they are just the beginning.

Because healthcare settings have so many different types of unique hazards that need to be accounted for, this industry requires a unique approach to safety. Any sufficiently large healthcare facility will want to have an employee whose job it is to coordinate all safety efforts. This will include implementing policies to ensure that the facility complies with all laws and regulations related to safety in the workplace. In addition, they will need to look for all types of hazards that exist in the facility and take steps to mitigate them.
