An arc flash is a dangerous electrical explosion that can reach temperatures up to 35,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Arc Flash Protective Clothing is safety clothing specially designed to protect employees working in an area where an electric arc flash hazard exists. This clothing has a verified arc thermal performance value (ATPV) that meets the value listed in the 'Protective Clothing Characteristics' section of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E standard.
